2.0 Responsibilities
The overall responsibilities of the Warehouse Specialist I fall into the following areas:
2.1 As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an
understanding of the established storage plan.
2.2 Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against
receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages;
routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing
materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
2.3 Perform warehouse functions including receiving, storing, moving and shipping
inventory using Material Handling Equipment (pallet jacks and forklifts).
2.4 Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials
and reporting deterioration and damage; and removing material from storage
and preparing it for shipment.
2.5 Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods of the site
in which employed and receiving incoming shipments. In performing day-to-day
routine tasks, follows established guidelines.
2.6 In handling unusual non-routine problems, receives specific guidance from
supervisor or other officials.
2.7 Primary purpose is to perform any necessary or required grounds maintenance
duties.
2.8 Reports all accidents/incidents to Supervisor.
2.9 Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
2.10 Other duties as assigned.
3.0 Equipment/Software
3.1 OSHA certified forklift operator.
3.2 Ability to utilize normal material handling equipment (MHE) to include pallet
jacks, VIDMAR systems and forklifts.
3.3 Ability to utilize ERP AIT devices.
4.0 Education
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

5.0 Experience
5.1 One (1) or more years of experience in warehouse operations.
5.2 Working knowledge of Navy Supply Operating System (ERP).
6.0 Physical Demands
6.1 Ability to lift, move and set down lightweight parts under 45 pounds without use
of MHE.
6.2 Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
6.3 Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach push loaded part carts, boxes of
parts, etc. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work in confined spaces.
6.4 Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
6.5 Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business
machines (calculator, phone, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
7.0 Mental Demands
7.1 Ability to expertly communicate both orally and/or in written format.
7.2 Ability to follow guidelines to arrange objects or actions in a certain order.
7.3 Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential
situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
7.4 Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the
organization.
7.5 Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing
materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a
fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing
tasks and demands.
8.0 Working Conditions
8.1 Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and access privileges for
assigned site.
8.2 Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test.
8.3 Ability to work inside and outside warehouse with exposure to extreme elements
(heat and cold). Warehouse facilities are neither air-conditioned nor heated.
