We are seeking an Accountant to join our team

Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting: Maintain the General Ledger accounts for multiple residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tax Accounting concepts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Month-End Close: Perform tasks as part of the monthly close process, such as preparing and posting journal entries, monitoring sub-ledger interfaces, and ensuring timely analysis and submission of close-related deliverables.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile associated bank accounts for property and apartment holdings.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable: Process invoicing and receivables, reconcile AR and AP activity against operational systems and contractual agreements.
  • Financial Analysis: Generate month-end close statements for review by management.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist an independent accounting firm in preparing financials and reporting requirements for local, state, and federal tax purposes.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on projects related to assigned properties.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required).
  • Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting or related property management.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Salary $65k-80k DOE
