ACS Project Manager and Team Lead - 502351
SUMMARY:

Academic Computing Services (ACS) supports more than 850 computers and mobile devices for instructional and student use that run in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments. This position is responsible for planning and managing ACS projects and coordinating the computer image creation and development process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and participate in the ACS creation and development of computer images, software packages, and patches to meet the academic needs of the university
  • Create and manage ACS Projects as assigned by the Director of ACS
  • Assign project tasks and create milestones to meet project objectives and deadlines
  • Manage software licensing and key server applications
  • Participate in the in administration of desktop/application virtualization
  • Administration and management of student printing
  • Maintain AD Organizational Units and AD Group Policies
  • Escalation and resolution of third-party software/systems issues
  • Collaborate with ACS staff to identify and troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • Gather and report operational metrics, accomplishments, and priorities as requested
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager including the management of task sequences, patching, packaging software, image creation and deployments - preferred
  • 3+ years of using Microsoft Active Directory - preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting - preferred
  • Experience with JAMF for managing MAC OS devices and software management - preferred
  • Experience with virtualization - preferred
  • Ability to successfully communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively work with faculty, staff, and students

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • 5+ years of work related experience
  • Project management training/certification preferred
  • Experience with ITIL standards for service delivery management
  • Technical writing experience preferred

WORK HOURS:
  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
  • May require extended work hours to include evenings and weekends as needed

SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 6 (Pay commensurate with experience).
