A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the program in speech-language pathology in the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. We are seeking vibrant and innovative individuals at the instructor level. Appointment will be for 12 months with rank and salary commensurate with academic credentials and experience. Position to begin July of 2023.
The cornerstone of the program is the education of speech-language pathologists with a focus in culturally responsive practices. The new faculty member should value diversity, interprofessional practice and education, and support the mission of the university for whole person healthcare dedicated to providing an education to meet the needs of a diverse student body and healthcare community.
We are seeking faculty with expertise across all areas of speech, language and swallowing disorders and across the lifespan. The program provides a wide spectrum of state-of the art medical speech pathology instrumentation and equipment for student education and faculty research.
The major responsibility of this position includes serving as the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) to provide innovative and responsible leadership for all aspects of clinic operations, education, management and development. There will not be an on-campus speech and language clinic. The Director should be a clinical leader with expertise and experience in interprofessional practice, research, service, and outreach programs in speech-language pathology or related educational and clinical service professions.
Skills related to the DCE position include demonstrating a broad and deep understanding of multiple clinical service provision models, and of multiple clinical education models, within the context of current and emerging national educational, healthcare, and related issues and policies. The ability to seek funding of multiple types and to work effectively with donors, development professionals, and pre-award and post- award grants management professionals. Work with faculty, staff, and community partners to develop and execute shared long-range goals and plans for substantial expansion of clinical opportunities and partnerships. Ability to provide clinical services and supervision of student clinicians. Provide clinical education and support for off-site supervisors.
