Assistant Controller A Direct Commercial Real Estate Lender providing short-term bridge loans, mezzanine debt and structured equity capital for acquisition, construction and recapitalization throughout the United States and has been in business for over 30 years.
What You Will Be Doing - Maintain all books and records for multiple entities (QuickBooks)
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany journal entries and eliminating entries, compiling ad hoc reports, and running the month end close process.
- Prepare and maintain amortization schedules
- Monitor available funds in each entity to ensure transfers are completed timely as needed
- In charge of the AR/AP function, including recording and paying invoices while using the appropriate level of due diligence to ensure the appropriate documentation and support is collected and proper approvals are received
- Process and monitor borrower/sponsor construction draws
- Work with third party fund administrator
- Coordinate yearly tax and audit work with independent third-party accounting firm
- 1099 report preparation and filing
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, including revenue recognition and capitalization policies.
- Continuously assess the current processes and procedures and make recommendations to improve efficiency and controls within the accounting and finance department as well as our entire organization with the mindset of constantly improving as we continue to change
