The Department of Educational Psychology offers doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs. The department focuses on generating research, disseminating knowledge, and preparing scholars and practitioners for leadership in their fields while enhancing the development and effective functioning of individuals, schools, and families.
Position Overview
The Department invites applications for an appointment at the Assistant Professor rank. The position is for an applicant with expertise in quantitative methodology. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the continued development and success of the department and growing the graduate programs in Research Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics (doctoral) and Research and Evaluation Methodology (master's) through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. Instructional roles may primarily include teaching graduate level courses in research methodology, including quantitative analysis and research design/methods. Traditional, online, and teaching at satellite sites may be required. The successful candidate will be expected to develop or continue an ongoing scholarship agenda in quantitative methodology. Expected scholarship includes regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees is expected both in the department and across the college, as well as representation of the discipline and department via committee participation and other relevant service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Research Methodology, Quantitative Methods, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field with strong focus on quantitative methodology and research design. ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with ability to teach courses in experimental and quasi-experimental research design and analysis of social experiments, statistical methods for meta-analysis. Candidates with additional expertise in categorical data analysis, advanced measurement/psychometrics, or longitudinal data analysis are also preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates that are able to work with faculty and students with applied research interests in education and psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research experience, as well as external funding or the potential for external funding, commensurate with rank.
