Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 x per year.

Description of Role:

This candidate will play a critical collaborative role to meet our CX engagement objectives.

The ideal candidate for the position of Assistant Owner Solutions Execution Lead embodies GM's behaviors and is motivated to bring strategies to life through implementation of world-class experiences that customers love! This role is responsible for ensuring the enterprise's strategic vision is successfully met through the tactical execution of capabilities relative to Owner Solutions that span products, platforms and channels.

This position holds responsibility for leading and executing key capabilities within the product roadmap for Owner Solutions, working in concert with the Owner Solutions management team and with development teams teams to bring a world-class experience to market for our customers. The Assistant Owner Solutions Execution Lead drives day to day operational success and aligns cross-functional teams against common goals (business, user experience, engineering, IT, etc.) to deliver features and functionality that makes customer's lives easier, more convenient, and more comfortable.

The Assistant Owner Solutions Execution Lead is an entrepreneur, fast learner and always thinks customer first. A progressive track record with a proven ability to lead change, collaborate and influence across all functions, effectively prioritize, and thrive in an ambiguous / fast-paced environment is a must.

Additional Job Description

Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with solution managers to define epics and break into features with clear acceptance criteria for further definition and prioritization (including documenting these asks in our technical backlog)
  • Create comprehensive project plans for epic/feature implementation (define, architect, plan, development, and validation phases), ensure team members are tracking to deadlines, and report on current status of all aspects of programs in various forums
  • Participate in testing & validation of solutions; participate in demos/reviews related to solution features as necessary, and create plan to implement improvements and protect solution vision
  • Ensures Launch Readiness for content through defect management, system performance and capacity testing, contingency planning, and launch scorecard creation
  • Gain necessary approvals; change requests, launch approval and informs into ECE OPS leadership forum
  • Construct the necessary technical plans in coordination with internal and external technical partners and lead execution from concept through launch and lifecycle planning.
  • Performs Technical Feasibility assessments for Owner Solutions
  • Validation of backlog sizing estimates
  • Ensures Launch Readiness for content through defect management, system performance and capacity testing, contingency planning and launch scorecard creation

Required Qualifications

  • Technical aptitude/customer focus
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing environment and specifications; strong decision-making skills
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills; ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong competency in digital media/platforms
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams and functional areas
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles
  • Action-oriented
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelors' degree

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree / M.B.A.
  • 5+ years of experience bringing software products to market
  • Familiarity/experience with SAFe agile development processes
  • Knowledge of GM internal back-end systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Design Thinking, Agile Development, Customer Journey Mapping, VOC programs, Affinity Diagrams, metrics and data and analytics tools
