The Role:
The Associate Director, Digital Data Management will be responsible for enforcing data management to advance the knowledge needs of the process development and analytical development groups. This role will be responsible for managing data systems through that supports data through its lifecycle, establishing and enforcing data governance standards, and implementing digital systems that support knowledge creation and data analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction and digital vision of the company as we build world class analytical development and testing capabilities to further our mission of delivering transformational mRNA medicine to patients. With our strong pipeline, this position will play a key role partnering with our Technical Development stakeholders to enable our systems and processes for long term success.

This role reports into the Sr. Director of Process & Analytical Development systems and is based in our Norwood, MA location.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Partner closely with business stakeholders and teams to understand their business processes to be able to define and articulate the business need
  • Partner with Digital stakeholders and teams to ensure a robust, optimized, and integrated digital landscape
  • Create, update, manage a data dictionary for the Technical Development landscape
  • Support a data governance program, provide data stewardship, and enforce data standards across the Technical Development landscape
  • Configure digital systems with master data and data validation to enable enforcement of data standards
  • Partner with data governance and stewardship teams across the enterprise to ensure a consistent and cohesive data landscape
  • Develop data models that accurately depict the drug development process and contextualize the data generated
  • Support Taxonomy efforts to define the business processes and align to data standards
  • Represent/enforce ontologies in digital systems and ensure master data management within digital systems
  • Implement digital solutions for structured content authoring, optimized data analysis workflows, efficient data transformation for analysis, automated report generation, and other knowledge creation platforms
  • Roadmap and execute lifecycle management for digital systems
  • Ensure optimized operation of digital systems and alignment of digital systems to business processes
  • Lead business analysts and engineers to determine requirements, deliver digital solutions, and continuously evolve those digital solutions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders
  • Participate in the execution of complex, integrated projects, proactively identifying risks and mitigation strategies, while communicating to stakeholders and driving timelines
  • Participate on digital management teams to implement efforts and projects to meet evolving business needs
  • Apply an operational excellence mindset to help identify, devise, and recommend new opportunities to optimize current processes
  • Ensure data integrity is prioritized in the design, delivery, and maintenance of all systems
  • Be accountable for change management and change adoption

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in science, engineering or computer science, MBA or PhD is a plus
  • 9+ years of experience in a digital technology organization designing, implementing, and supporting process development technology solutions and working in a either a research & development or GMP environment
  • Experience deploying and maintaining data governance initiatives
  • Experience implementing digital solutions for knowledge management, structured content authoring, and data analysis
  • Data Integrity focused mindset
  • Strong understanding of core process development system workflows, digitally managing Design of Experiments, data integrity regulations, instrument integration, and experiment digital workflow optimization
  • Experience with data from analytical lab equipment, process equipment, and integration into digital systems
  • Experience with historians such as OSISoft PI, data archival systems such as SDMS, and data backup solutions
  • Experience with Laboratory Execution Systems, LIMS, ELN, SaaS based applications, etc.
  • Experience working with and supporting custom built software solutions
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing digital systems
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, startup-like environment
  • Experience in defining, scoping, and managing technology initiatives
  • Strong knowledge GAMP and GxP compliance regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and lead teams to reach a common goal
