Job Description

The Hunt Library, located on the Daytona Beach, Florida, Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), is recruiting for an Associate Director for Electronic & Technical Services, a non-tenure track position. As a member of the library Management Team, the successful candidate will lead the Electronic and Technical Services team, which is responsible for the acquisition and provision of online and physical materials and services in support of residential and distance learning campus programs.

Duties include:

  • Leading the Electronic & Technical Services department, with responsibility for a staff of nine.
  • Directly supervising three department heads.
  • Managing staff and processes that ensure the acquisition of and access to library information resources required by the residential and distance learning campuses.
  • Leading the Hunt Library Ex Libris Systems Team.
  • Serving as the library's primary liaison to university Information Technology.
  • Participating in library administration.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science
  • A minimum of two years management experience, including supervision of full-time employees
  • Experience in a medium or large library
  • Library collection management, cataloguing, or electronic library services experience
  • Experience leading a cross-departmental team in a library environment
  • Familiarity with information technology
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and interact and collaborate with individuals of different backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Academic library experience
  • Experience collaborating with organizational partners
  • Experience with SaaS
  • Familiarity with Alma, Primo VE, Leganto, EZproxy, Adobe products, FTP software, Microsoft Office, or Springshare
  • Experience with archival software and EAD, OCLC, RDA, USMARC formats and LC classifications.
