Position Summary

Position Summary:
This position will also be responsible for overseeing the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial filings for the Company with the SEC, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, Earnings Presentations, 8-Ks and the annual proxy. In that regard, this position will collaborate with the existing Consolidations team (which is responsible for preparing the Company's consolidated financial statements) as well as internal and external legal counsel to prepare the other supplementary financial information required in the SEC filings (MD&A, XRBL tags, etc.).
This position will also assist the Global Credit Fund Management teams in the preparation of SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, Proxy Statements and other SEC required filings) for the Company's business development companies and other '40 Act funds.

Additionally, this position will also evaluate new financial statement disclosure requirements, draft new financial statement disclosures, and coordinate with the financial reporting group so that they are able to populate the new disclosures with the relevant data.

This position will be expected to build strong working relationships within the Company's public investor relations, legal, fund management, and corporate accounting team members to ensure appropriate disclosure of the Company's financial results and timely and accurate filing. Additionally, this position will work with external auditors during the audit process.


Key Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
The position will perform all or some of the following job duties:

  • Oversee the preparation of the supplementary financial information required in quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, and proxy statements for CG and the firm's business development companies
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures
  • Manage the firm's quarterly sub-certification process
  • Assist with the accounting integration of acquired businesses and standardization of accounting policies and procedures with acquired businesses
  • Provide cross-functional accounting support, as needed
  • Ensure SOX compliance for reporting function
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Requirements:
Education & Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Concentration in accounting, finance or related field, preferred
  • CPA preferred
Professional Experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience, required
  • Experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or SEC reporting, strongly preferred
  • Extensive understanding of and experience in the application of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting pronouncements, with emphasis on accounting principles related to consolidation, fair value estimates, business acquisitions, stock-based compensation, and income taxes.

  • Demonstrated project management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience with Workiva / Wdesk a plus
  • Familiarity with the private equity / financial services industries a plus
