Position Summary

***This Position is Contingent Upon Contract Award. ******UNITED STATES / AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION***

MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly qualified Aviation Safety Manager to support a large-scale Rotary Wing Aviation Training Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

The Aviation Safety Manager is responsible for the following safety accountabilities:

  • Develops and monitors the program's safety policy and procedures to include conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
  • Implements management systems that will establish and maintain safe work practices
  • Collects safety data and conducts assessment of the safety program
  • Serves as Chair of the School of Aviation Safety Committee
  • Conducts necessary safety training
  • Develops and delivers a safety newsletter
  • Coordinates with the Corporate SMS Manager, USG and Host Nation to align the program safety policy and procedures with all binding policies, standards, and/or local regulations.
  • Process safety reports.
  • Performs risk analyses and risk assessments during safety investigations and during the safety risk management process.
  • Assists operational department(s) in working through the safety risk management process.
  • Performs data analysis using data from various Safety Assurance programs to measure and report on the effectiveness of risk controls.
  • Completes safety data requests as requested.
  • Develops and maintains content for the periodic safety data review process.
  • Develops and maintains an internal aviation hazard and incident reporting system, lead investigations of internal aviation incidents, and initiate corrective action(s) as necessary.
  • Monitors and evaluates the results of corrective actions; ensure that the feedback loop and control measures are in place and working efficiently.
  • Performs duties as an active member of the Emergency Response team when requested.
  • Reviews current best practices from the US DOD, FAA and industry sources for practices applicable to Flight Crew Operations, Aircraft Maintenance, and Air Traffic Control
  • Other duties/projects as assigned
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Experience:
  • 10 years total experience
  • Five (5) Years rated Pilot experience as an aviation system safety manager.
  • Two (2) Years as Instructor Pilot in the MD-530, AH-6I, AH-64E and/or UH-60M.
  • Minimum 1000 hours in category and 150 hours minimum of hood, weather and simulator time combined.
Education:
  • FAA Commercial Pilot or US Military Pilot rating and the appropriate category endorsements.
  • Graduate of a Military Aviation Safety program (preferably the Army Aviation Safety Course)
Clearance:
  • Secret
Citizenship:
  • US Citizen
