SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting the Broiler Manager in producing high-quality birds for the plant while maintaining low cost and a highly motivated workforce. The role involves scheduling chick placement and scheduling birds for processing based on weight relative to plant requirements, communicating with growers, giving advice on management practices, and monitoring various feeding and health programs for broilers. Additionally, this position includes monitoring cost reports, plant production DOAs, and other relevant data, comparing performance week-over-week and working with accounting personnel to ensure the accuracy and status of all broiler settlements and ensuring all USDA, NAE, NAO, AWB, and other government regulations are followed in the production of broilers. Other duties include regular weekly meetings with and encouragement of Broiler Technical Advisors, working directly with equipment companies in order to ensure efficient layout of equipment, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
• Experience: 3 plus years of related work experience preferred
• Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills (E.g., creating MS Excel worksheets, Word documents, checking electronic mail)
• Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
• Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department of work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
