Business Strategy Plan Director - Risk Adjustment, Medicaid

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Business Strategy Plan Director - Risk Adjustment, Medicaid is responsible for Risk Adjustment strategy, project execution, and executive reporting of the programs within the Medicaid Individual and Small Group line of business.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Understands all aspects of the Risk Adjustment business and partner with Medicaid executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future.
  • Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects priorities, and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality.
  • Leverage predictive analytics and other insights from Data Science and Analytics teams to identify opportunities and develop innovative interventions to improve risk adjustment and help ensure complete and accurate coding of our members' health.
  • Documents strategic priorities such as external environment and reports on customer insight research initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data, spot trends and opportunities for improvement and can articulate findings and patterns to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities in data collection and execute project management oversight for the proposed solutions.
  • Prepares executive reporting that is informative, accurate and timely to ensure business partners are aligned with the work being performed and the risk adjustment team is fully aware of evolving business partner needs.
  • Track the executive reporting and provide updates on the ongoing performance in a very succinct and organized manner.
  • Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.
  • Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning, project activities and execution oversight.
Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including prior leadership experience and 3-to-5-year strategic planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading large complex projects preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare economics and/or risk adjustment at a health plan, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Medicaid Individual and Small Group business, preferred.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills preferred.
  • Strategy and planning experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate a track record of driving initiatives in a matrix environment preferred.
  • Able to travel to a worksite and other locations as necessary.
