Vertiv, in Anderson, SC, is looking for a Buyer to purchase commodities for America business demand requirementsin coordination with Americas Commodity teams and Operations Materials teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tactical creation and issuance of purchase orders to approved suppliers based on ERP system demand.
• Maintains accurate purchase order information and delivery dates in MRP system.
• Expedite material as needed to support production needs driven by customer demand; defer material deliveries as appropriate to support inventory optimization plan.
• Supportsinternal customer i.e.,Material Manager/Plannerto maintainoptimalinventory levels.
• Reconcile / resolve invoice discrepancies and route next steps to appropriate functional group.
• Coordinate information between suppliers, Materials & Commodity Management; provide material availability, pricing, and shipping information.
• Adheres to spot buy and freight cost management processes to minimize total cost to the business
• Investigate multiple options for and negotiate favorable pricing/terms on spot buys.
• Create / maintain purchase order lines for surcharges due to tariffs, freight, expediting.
• Performs other relatedduties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Associates degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 year(s) of experience in related field

• Excellent organizational, analytical thinkingand multi-tasking skills
• Detail-oriented and ability to thrive is a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of cost management best practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills andtheproven ability to work well with leaders
• Proficient using ERP systemse.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Associates degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
