Calibration Chemist

Zoetis is hiring for a candidate for their Calibration Chemist position at their Union City, CA site. This position will work closely with in-process manufacturing through root cause and trend analysis to assess data for accuracy and acceptable calibration. This position will also be required to make partnered decisions that have an impact upon the manufacturing line. The details of the positions are as below:

• Perform calibration monitoring and required adjustments based on in-line rotor testing to assess rotor start-up for accuracy and acceptable calibration; be alert to developing trends, make decisions that have an impact upon the manufacturing line and proactively notify management of emerging issues
• Perform assigned rotor testing using biological samples; compile summaries and test results
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration; maintain laboratory in compliance with cGMP and GLP. Provide input and support with developing controlled procedures and manufacturing records
• Provide support and assistance for qualifications, validations and other requests as assigned
• Provide resource support for hand-builds, formulations, and value assignment activities of controls and calibrators
• Candidate preferred that has flexible schedule to work an assigned shift that includes some weekends

Additional Skills:

• Strong laboratory skills including equipment calibration, lab safety, biohazard and chemical handling Solid oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Proficient in desktop software applications such as Microsoft Office.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years work experience in Quality Control/Manufacturing in a Biotech/Medical Device field.
• or AA OR BS degree with major focused on Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years work experience in Quality Control/Manufacturing in a Biotech/Medical Device field.
