RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a CFO in Washington, DC.Responsibilities:Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the long-term goals of the Client
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
Financial Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships to optimize financial resources
Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls and risk management strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate insurance coverage to protect the organization against potential liabilities
Grant Management:
  • Manage grants and funding sources, including proposal development, reporting, and compliance
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure alignment of financial resources with programmatic goals
Board Relations and Reporting:
  • Provide financial updates and reports to the Board of Directors, including budget variance analysis and financial forecasts
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Board on financial matters and assist in decision-making processes
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Develop staff capacity through training, coaching, and performance management


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Understand both the program and business side
  • Strong EQ for changes
  • Technical Side: Overseeing multiple departments; HR (4 people); Data Management; Legal falls under the CFO; Operations; Auxiliary programs; Help Services
  • Can manage a diverse team and functions
  • Someone who is very Business minded and comfortable speaking with a Board and has this experience
  • Someone who is comfortable and familiar with a board of trustees
  • Someone who is less passive and more proactive, someone who can take initiative and appropriate action
  • Someone who is polished, able to make recommendations and is strategic
  • Need someone who can handle multiple levels of matter coming at them at anytime
  • Comfortable working roughly 50-55 hours a week
  • Ability to oversee multiple teams, a lot of visibility and knowledge into the operations of the school
  • Nonprofit experience is not required but is preferred


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
