Claims Representative, Personal Injury Protection

In this fast paced role, the Claims Represenatative, Personal Injury Protection will adjust first party person injury claims according to state compliance requirement guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Understand personal lines automobile coverages; adhere to the policy contract including related coverages, exclusions, etc.
- Contact insureds, attorneys and other parties in accordance with department guidelines
- Send lost wage forms to employers and request disability statements as required.
- Schedule independent medical exams when appropriate.
- Pay submitted bills according to established procedures.
- Answer questions from insureds, claimants, attorneys, and others to resolve problems within established levels of authority.
- Develop and maintain claim files that document all actions.
- Ensure that service, loss and expense control are maintained at all times.
- The ability to Multitask in time sensitive situations.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Minimum 2 years of claims handling experience
- The ability to obtain State Licenses when requested.
- Strong customer service, organizational, verbal and written skills are required.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and/or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
