Position Overview

The Fashion Footwear and Accessories Practice at NPD works with some of the most prominent companies in the industry. We are currently seeking a client-facing Analyst to be an integral team member, dedicated to working with leading footwear and accessories companies. In this position, you will contribute to client engagement, satisfaction, and revenue growth by leveraging NPD data assets to provide actionable insights.

This position is open to location and remote as an option.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to the team in managing day to day client activities including sharing analyses on brand specific topics, answering relevant client questions, training/educating clients to drive adoption and usage of NPD's strategic data sets.
  • Understand our manufacturer clients' organizations and their business strategies, objectives, and challenges. Attend/present insights at client meetings.
  • Leverage Point of Sale (POS), consumer survey data, and other NPD data assets to develop analyses which help our clients grow their business and gain market share.
  • Problem-solve and maintain client relationships with adaptability, urgency, and positivity.
  • Manage creation and delivery of key insights presentations.
  • Create and present clear stories within the data that are relevant and insightful to the clients' businesses, linking macro trends in the retail landscape to the data.
  • Develop topical recaps and analyses based on key retail events and/or selling seasons.
  • Contribute to marketing and PR efforts.
  • Partner with account leads and cross-functional departments to drive initiatives which support the sale and delivery of NPD's solutions.
  • Potential to manage client relationship and revenue independently.


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 to 4 year(s) of prior experience in a role which utilizes data and analysis to add value to clients
  • Strong expertise in all MS Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
  • Experience with NPD data tools including Decision Key or Tableau is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work across various data sets and reporting tools
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and strong orientation towards building client relationships
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills; Confident in presenting to groups
  • Highly detail oriented - with commitment to total quality and data accuracy
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, the Fashion and Footwear/Accessories industries is a plus
