Develop, edit, and deliver consistent messaging and engaging, informative, and effective communications to our farmer-owners and farmer facing staff through a variety of platforms, while ensuring adherence to DFA’s brand strategy and standards. Participate in developing and implementing communication strategies that support and promote the organization’s goals and objectives. Work with others to ensure content is integrated in overarching communications strategies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring effectiveness of communication strategies focused on our farmer-owners
  • Build upon existing and assist in developing new ways to engage with farmer-owners and farmer facing staff
  • Coordinate and execute communication activities to farmer-owners and farmer facing staff, including coordinating multiple communications projects concurrently
  • Develop and edit communication content in partnership with the internal/external customer; work with the internal corporate communication team to ensure content is presented and delivered effectively
  • Provide communications guidance to internal and external partners
  • Develop communication templates and tools
  • Create presentations and draft content for publications for various audiences
  • Maintain and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with others on cross-divisional and cross-functional communications needs
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, communication trends, and new technologies to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, marketing, digital media, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • 2 to 5 years of communications or related experience
  • Proven capacity to manage or support multiple projects; agility and flexibility on just-in-time issues and work assignments
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Solid knowledge of variety of writing styles (such as Associated Press style)
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, including proofing
  • Able to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, while driving results
  • Able to think creatively
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Able to balance multiple tasks
  • Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to write and edit within an organizational brand
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with flexibility
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
