The Industrial Power Systems Division is currently looking for a Controls Engineer in Seguin, Texas. As a Controls Engineer, you are responsible for performing various assignments designed to improve the facility, assist in supporting the manufacturing operation and resolve operational problems associated with equipment and facilities. This role is geared to systems integration, control, and programming of manufacturing equipment and the support services needed to maintain equipment and/or building operations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the Control Systems Operation Reactive Call support by troubleshooting and reducing/preventing production down time efforts
  • Control Systems Development/Upgrade Projects. Includes Sensors/Modules wiring diagrams, I/O devices and embedded controllers, PLC/HMI/Fanuc Robot/Camera Programming and Validation Testing
  • Siemens PLC TIA Portal Programming, Step 7 Programming, and troubleshooting
  • Experience setting up and maintaining common industrial networks such as (Ethernet IP, Profinet or Profibus)
  • Tridium Development and Integration
  • Tridium Server/ Kepware Maintenance, Updates and Validation Tests
  • Coordinate with other interfacing disciplines for Control Systems design requirements, specifications, verification tests
  • Collaborate on the creation, development, and presentation of technical briefings
  • Analyzes and recommends current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs
  • Troubleshoots throughout the facility to determine the cause of failure, the lack of efficiency and the need for repair or improvement of systems or equipment. Resolves problems in design and recommends solutions to prevent recurrence of problem
  • Prepares documentation to support maintenance frequency and recurring problems
  • Investigates problems occurring in the plant that are maintenance related and recommends solutions to alleviate the problem
  • Manages outside contractors performing maintenance, repairs or changes to the facility or utility system
What You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
  • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
