Corporate Accounting Intern

Job Description:

HITT Contracting is seeking a summer intern to join our Corporate Accounting team in our Falls Church, VA, headquarters office from the end of May through early August. While gaining firsthand understanding of a dynamic and fast-growing general contractor, this individual will provide administrative assistance to support the operations of the Corporate Accounting Department. This intern will be sponsored throughout the summer by the Senior Associate of the Corporate Accounting team and will receive mentorship from several team members.

EDUCATION

• Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
• Rising junior or senior preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shadow team members as they perform accounting duties
• Assist with account analysis and reconciliation in the support of maintaining accurate financial records per HITT policy and US GAAP
• Perform administrative duties and job/account research for quarterly forecast processes
• Additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
• Work promptly to communicate, discuss, and resolve accounting-related problems with the team, striving to correct problems promptly

QUALIFICATIONS

• A self-starter with a can-do attitude
• Must be able to work efficiently in a deadline-oriented environment while maintaining quality
• Detail oriented, organized, and disciplined
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
