Maintains all external and internal corrosion on the pipelines in area of responsibility including working with Operations and vendors who help mitigate pipeline corrosion

• Uses corrosion test equipment and instrumentation.
  
• Makes cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, read rectifiers and record readings, inspection, investigations and analyze data.
  

• Inspects facilities for atmospheric corrosion.
  
• Performs close interval surveys, collects and analyzes data.
  
• Initiates remedial actions according to data results.
  
• Inspects and maintains CP equipment, records and complete required reports.
  
• Prepares as-built sketches and redlines existing drawings.
  

• Interprets internal corrosion (IC) data from coupons and liquid sample collections.
  
• Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
  

• High school diploma or GED
  

• NACE Certifications preferred
  
• Knowledge of cathodic protection.
  
• Understand equipment manuals and DOT standards/regulatory guidelines.
  
• Must be physically able to perform all duties required:
  
• Able to pass Corrosion Tech I tests within a reasonable timeframe - if entering classification as a Corrosion Trainee, must pass Corrosion Tech I tests within 6 months. Within (1) year, attain the NACE entry level certification or equivalent. Within 2 years, pass the Corrosion Tech II tests and within three (3) years, attain NACE Level 2 certification or equivalent.
  

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  
• Good communication skills.
  

• This job operates in both inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant. Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds. Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders.
  

• Occasional travel will be required
