Job Summary:

The Credit Analyst II position will contact customers to collect past due balances with a heavy concentration in disputed balances. With disputed balances this position will determine the root cause and work with sales and plant personal to determine the validity of dispute claims. Once validity is determined, the position will offset any credit balance issued or send denial notices of denied claims to customers and pursue the collection of denied disputed balances. The position will track the status of disputes that customers make until resolution and will provide performance metric reports on the subject to upper management. The position will cross train on other functions within the department to provide coverage when needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Contacts customers to collect past due balances.

  • Works with customers to determine root cause of disputed balances.

  • Communicates with plant and sales staff to determine validity of dispute claims.

  • Offsets credit memos against disputed balance when they are issued.

  • Sends denial notifications to customers when dispute claims are determined to be invalid.

  • Pursues the collection of disputed balances that have been denied.

  • Maintains dispute tracking system

  • Provides performance metric reports to upper management

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • JD Edwards Enterprise 1 experience with AR functions of the program

  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience

  • One year of Accounts Receivable dispute resolution experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Basic accounting knowledge


Preferred:

  • BBA or equivalent degree

  • JD Enterprise World experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
