Thisposition is responsible for providing emergency mental health assessmentand intervention for all age groups in the emergency department and forproviding mental health consultation to, emergency department, and medicalsurgical floor of the North Shore Medical Center. Also for coordination carewith primary care physicians, referrers, insurance carriers or other agencies,completing and maintaining documentation and records. Represents North ShoreMedical Center in a professional manner and adheres to all North Shore MedicalCenter policies and guidelines and state and federal regulations and programrequirements.
Qualifications
Required To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able toperform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate anyknowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of thepatients serviced on his/her assigned unit. Must have ability to conducteffective interviews, manage difficult relationships, engage in high-levelreasoning and planning, recall large amounts of relevant information, andcommunicate effectively orally and in writing. The following certificationswill be required(and provided by department) within the first 6/12 months ofemployment: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification, Cardio PulmonaryResuscitation Certification and Defibrillation Certification. Must be capableof learning new skills and information on a continuing basis.
Preferred Two years supervised clinical experience withchildren and families; one year of clinical internship during graduate trainingmay be counted, while one year should be postgraduate.
Required Master's in social work, clinical psychology,psychiatric nursing, or closely related area.
Required CPI and CPR Cert.
Preferred Licensed mental health provider; LSW, LISW, RN in Massachusetts
