YOUR ROLE

This position manages the AR for large national retailers. Functions include processing of payments and managing deductions to ensure the account maintains current. Position responsible for collection of funds in a timely manner. Person is responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external people to ensure high client satisfaction. Must stay current on all necessary vendor compliance requirements. Telecommuting options are available per department's need.

  • Process payments for retail accounts.
  • Have working knowledge of deduction types.
  • Ability to research deductions and determine validity.
  • Work with other teams to ensure all processes flow smoothly.
  • Attend regular meetings to collaborate with sales team.
  • Reconcile unapplied credit/debit transactions
  • Research and direct application of incoming cash
  • Assist in the resolution of customer claims for loss/shortage/pricing and return variances
  • Ensure timely research and issuance of unauthorized deduction chargebacks
  • Maintain up to date understanding of Vendor portals and contracts
  • Provide back-up support of team responsibilities as needed
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 2 years of experience in an entry level accounting role required, additional accounting experience is highly desired. Education in accounting from an accredited college can substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis, additional education is desired.
  • Understanding of basic accounting.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contracts and compliance agreements.
  • Ability to multi-task through several different processes.
  • Navigate multi systems for research.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Analytical minded.
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Excellent with numbers and math skills.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, advanced excel skills is highly desired.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Self-motivating and can work independently.
  • Ability to do formulas in Excel.
  • Ability to research on multiple levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
