Job Summary

This position will be part of the team managing the Enterprise Asset Management business processes and strategies of Tyson Foods. The individual in this position will perform business process design and support related to Tyson's property lifecycle management strategy working towards the creation of a value-added property data stream using key processes and functions in both Tyson's primary system of record, SAP, and in consideration to other platforms in use. The Data Engineer III Enterprise Asset Management will play a major role in data structuring and recording of both property acquisition and decommission events along with transactional data related to the maintain and operate phase of property life cycle. Activity will be for both current sites in operation as well as future acquisitions and divestitures. Support activities include but are not limited to platform configuration and integration to the data requirement of property life cycle management, optimization of end user experience including but not limited to standup and deployment for new users, system troubleshooting and resolution, and creating educational documentation and resources.

The data Engineer II role provides strategic analysis services to business partners, stakeholders, and IT. The focus of this position is to work closely with the various department to gain in-depth understanding of business strategies, processes, and services in order to roadmap systems to support the organizational property management strategy. This role is key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.

Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from documenting business and functional requirements to assisting on more complex projects related to operational business functions and strategic initiatives. Ideal candidate for the Data Engineer III role is a problem solver who will play a critical role in defining and enabling business change, make a real difference to business success and influence the way the company operates to amplify positive impact.

Job Responsibilities

Specific duties include participating in-and in some cases, leading-workshops and seminars to derive value from standardization and socialization of business processes, providing guidance on best practices, and serving as a key conduit between information technology (IT) teams and the business, engineering, procurement, safety, and finance/accounting. The successful candidate will participate in the governed capture and analytics of big data for property in use organizationally that involves performing complex functions to acquire, operate, and decommission property recording and structuring data in accordance to the key events.

Other duties include

  • Providing support for system configuration and integration decisions
  • Conceptualize solutions to business requirements and validate proposed solutions
  • Review testing outcomes with cross-functional teams
  • Applying best practices to data cleansing and data extraction for migration
  • Training team members in applications used to manage property and project funding
  • Provide result analytics for past and current property investment decisions leading to optimization in procurement, operate, and decommission strategy going forward.
  • Act as the partner to the business and IT, aligning technology to business goals and delivering best-in-class technology solutions.
  • Actively participate and help guide IT architecture strategy, integration, and deployment activities across analytics space.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships by demonstrating an understanding of related processes, requirements, systems, and terminology.
  • A strong candidate will have expertise in transforming business reporting from Excel to enterprise analytics.
  • Partner with stakeholder teams across business units to document necessary business cases to frame opportunities, benefits, and risks to decide on a course of action
  • Stay current with stakeholder needs and strategies by developing a communication process utilizing formal and informal methods to communicate updates and findings and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (e.g. senior management, customers, technical staff)
  • Coordinate, influence, and gain alignment of cross-functional business & IT teams to develop scalable and strategic solutions that meet business needs
  • Participate in cross functional meetings & organize/deliver information to audiences at all levels within the company, including executive stakeholders
  • Handle multiple engagements simultaneously without compromising accountability or reducing level of engagement
Requirements

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in CIS or Engineering preferred.

Experience: 1 plus year experience with SAP in the food industry or other manufacturing environments preferred. Experience should include configuration, development, and data governance oversight focused to the following modules; PM, PS, FICO with a focus to FA, and MM.

Computer Skills: Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office applications is required and the ability to learn and become proficient in new platforms introduced is a necessity. The ability to be able to interpret and troubleshoot basic coding languages including but not limited to ABAP, Java, HTML, and SQL is a plus. The ability to learn, understand, and apply big data analytic concepts in conjunction with common data lake platforms is desired. Experience and proficiency with data visualization toolsets like Power BI and Tableau through publication will be highly valued. Experience with Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pivots, and Power App development and deployment is a plus. Website design and management skills is desired.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills required including the ability to collaborate effectively with Corp. support teams and Plant staff and management. Above-average verbal and written business-communication skills are required. Experience with documentation and technical writing a plus.

Special Skills: Ability to coordinate with Plant-based management and Corp. support teams requiring good communication organizational and time management skills. Must be self-driven and motivated have a willingness to

learn the ability to listen, good phone presence. Must work well under pressure meeting hard deadlines and requires strong problem-solving abilities.

Supervisory: No direct but will lead, support, and educate junior staff members indirectly.

Travel: Minimum travel requirements as needed.
