Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Works both independently and as a member of the team, participates in all aspects of analysis, design, and development of data structures, integration solutions, and related vended applications to support data integrations and integrity of the Indiana University Salesforce CRM platform.
  • Participates in all aspects of technical analysis, design, and development of data structures, integration solutions, custom applications, and related vended applications for Indiana University's Salesforce CRM platform.
  • Designs and builds out highly technical software mechanisms to accommodate multiple integrations accurately based on complex rules and custom solutions.
  • Collaborates with the IU CRM team and other UITS Divisions and units in the planning process to establish business requirements, define deliverables and establish timelines.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains solutions primarily on the Heroku platform as a Service (PaaS) using Node JS and related tools and languages.
  • Troubleshoots, analyzes problems, and develops resolutions for data integration and custom application/functionality issues.
  • Provides input into tactical and strategic planning.
  • Maintains security at the highest level by enduring that security standards and protocols are recognized and followed.
  • Proactively seeks and analyzes security bulletins for potential exposures.
  • Collaborates with fellow infrastructure teams to develop, test, and ensure implementation of security best practices and policies.
  • Provides assistance to technical partners by ensuring availability of appropriate resources, and when needed, assists developers in determining data design solutions.
  • Works as an effective member on the team providing daily administration of CRM maintained data, integrations, and imports.
  • Identifies appropriate training, mentoring, guidance and resources necessary for the development of team member.
  • Assists with the coordination of identification and analysis of data sources and processes required for logical and physical modeling of data for the IU CRM environment utilizing multiple data sources internal and external to the University.
  • Provides input on technical architecture, including tools and processes.
  • Responsible for collaborating and ensuring the successful delivery of critical IU CRM platform data components and ongoing CRM data integrity.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides experienced design, development, testing, and configuration of software systems and computer programs.
  • Performs experienced analysis, programming, troubleshooting, bug-fixing, and tuning of new and existing software.
  • Consults with stakeholders/clients to review existing software solutions; develops new functionality and/or writes new code as needed; advises clients on critical decisions regarding information technology to improve overall business process efficiency.
  • Determines program module test procedures, generates required test data, and executes testing procedures.
  • Collaborates with other technical staff and stakeholders/clients to ensure optimum functionality, performance, accessibility, scalability, and security of supported software.
  • Documents software development efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution).
  • Provides documentation, information, and training through formal and informal communications to end users, departments, and internal staff.
  • Contributes to project planning, formulating objectives, estimating tasks; performs studies to include feasibility, conceptual design, cost/benefit analysis, development and implementation planning.
  • Ensures that all protocols used in the development and maintenance of software is up to date and compliant with university policies and standards; researches and stays up-to-date on new industry software development standards, emerging technology, UX/UI design/philosophy, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, business systems, or related field)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years in full stack development, data architecture, system analysis, or closely related fields is required

  • Knowledge and experience working with enterprise scale technologies including Salesforce, Denodo, real time messaging systems, Redis, ETL tools, and PaaS models is a plus
  • Clear, professional communications (listening, oral and written communications). Strong relationship building and collaboration skills. Demonstrated track record as a team player
  • High degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise through a variety of methods, including self-study, working/mentoring with colleagues, and both internal and external training
  • Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

The job's work is in the area of multi-object relational data architecture, maintenance, and integration development for the Salesforce CRM Platform and related applications. Selection preference may be given to candidates with experience working with 1 or more applicable products from this vendor.

Bloomington, Indiana

This position may be eligible for remote work, subject to change based on university policy and business needs.
