About the Role

We're looking for a Director of HQ Finance. This role provides FP&A support for many of Gap Inc.'s company functions including Executive, HR, Benefits, Finance, ESG, Legal, Digital, and Gap Foundation. This position will play a critical role in supporting and influencing the financial plan for the business functions as they pivot towards supporting Gap Inc.'s growth strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the financial processes for the assigned functions, including LRP, budget, and monthly forecast submissions. Provide financial/business decision support to the executive leadership teams of the assigned functions
  • Partner with Corporate and Brand finance counterparts to understand business strategies and drivers to demand on company functions
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity to drive productivity and help ensure overhead spend is driving value to the business
  • Provide analytical support and insight into resource demand drivers, KPIs, and business levers. Oversee ad hoc financial modeling in support of business decisions and proposed investments
  • Help manage Gap Foundation 501c3 restricted fund and financial reporting, possibly serving as Gap Foundation's Treasurer
  • Lead, develop and motivate team of two managers and three analysts. Engage in regular dialogue with brand and functional counterparts to develop and maintain effective relationships and understand potential issues or conflicting priorities
  • Continuously look for areas to improve the effectiveness of our financial processes and reporting, striving to streamline and standardize processes to ensure efficient workflow

Who You Are

  • Ability to build and develop a talented, engaged team that is motivated to deliver outstanding work
  • Capable of effectively influencing business partners through diplomacy, building consensus, negotiating, and exercising leadership skills
  • Organized, with demonstrated experience in owning, driving, and prioritizing multiple projects to completion
  • Strategic, analytical, and structured thinker that possesses keen attention to detail and can articulate complex situations in a simple way
  • Skilled at developing and delivering presentations to senior management and cross-functional groups in a professional, concise, and direct manner
  • Driven by a fast-paced environment that requires a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, flexibility, and commitment to deliver on deadlines
  • Self-starter that anticipates problems, identifies opportunities, and provides creative solutions. Team player with a positive attitude - open to cross-training and sharing team responsibilities
  • Deep experience in finance, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, and with track record of developing and managing a team and engaging with senior leadership. Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field, MBA, CFA, or CPA a plus
