The Director HR, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs (RACA) will be accountable for end-to-end HR leadership for the Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Affairs organization within the overarching R&D organization and serve as the primary strategic business partner to the SVP, RACA. The Dir HR will join the RACA and R&D leadership team(s) where applicable and be responsible for driving the HR planning and execution aligned to global and regional business and HR priorities, with emphasis on talent management, leadership coaching, organizational design, DE&I, employee engagement and creating a world-class associate experience. Although this role does not have direct reports, it will serve as an HR leadership partner to the VP HR R&D and work closely with the Sr HRBP roles that also report into that VP, inclusive of getting work done through others on the team where necessary and coaching / mentoring these roles. The Director HR will need to closely work with members of other Centers of Excellence. As such, the leader will interface effectively with relevant business and HR leaders to maximize both global, regional, and local opportunities and create a high-performance working culture to enable the business to achieve its ambitious performance and people objectives.

This position is part of the R&D HR team and will be located in Sunnyvale, California. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide the primary support as lead HR partner for the SVP RACA joining as a member of their senior leadership team to provide the strategic direction in organizational design, talent management and other key people initiatives; serve as subject matter expert to align people programs globally.
  • Partner with business leaders, COEs, and HRBPs to ensure that organizational planning, workforce planning, diversity initiatives, talent management, and compensation planning are aligned with the company's values and culture.
  • Serve as a representative of HR leadership globally, creating opportunities for coaching and collaboration across the HR organization.
  • Lead cross-functional, cross-enterprise HR projects or projects related to supporting the achievement of key critical objectives in the R&D organization to achieve desired outcomes and participate on project teams as assigned.
  • Serve as an integrated part of the business, working with and influencing business leaders to make data-based decisions to further talent progression in pursuit of overall business strategic goals.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience monitoring results of talent initiatives to ensure effectiveness through access and interpretation of employee data including but not limited to employee turnover, hiring, change management, performance, and engagement.
  • Experience leading the development and execution of transformation initiatives, managing change across multiple departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating environments of continuous improvement through actively engaging with process owners to explore opportunities to optimize or problem solve utilizing the Danaher Business System (DBS) and championing change management.
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience OR Master's with 8+ years of experience

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong data-driven analysis and decision making with the knowledge and ability to interpret and develop key insights from available data to drive strategy.
  • Demonstrating strong executive presence with ability to command respect and gain credibility through exercise of sound business judgment, clear decision-making, and excellent communication.
  • Managing significant change/project initiatives, including change management experience.

Other requirements/abilities:

  • Up to 20% travel may be required, mainly domestic travel.
  • Able to work flexible schedules to accommodate global work teams.
  • Must be able to work at the Sunnyvale, CA headquarters site 3 days/week and available for travel up to 15% of the time.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $180,000 - $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
