The Director of Compliance is a crucial member of the Faculty Affairs team who oversees University-wide faculty compliance initiatives. They also define goals for future organizational performance, strategic compliance planning, direct integrated implementation and evaluation of compliance initiatives, and ensure established standards of continuous improvement are met. The Director of Compliance serves as the University's chief representative and advocate for excellence in compliance functions. 1. Faculty Affairs Duties (50%)
*Liaises with Human Resources regarding faculty hiring, onboarding practices and compliance
*Oversees the screening of faculty, including background checks and the protection of minors policy for tenured and tenure track Professors and Professors of Practice
*Ensures that all full time faculty including tenured, tenure track and Professors of Practice are in compliance with state and federal reporting mandates
*Liaises with Human Resources regarding faculty needs related to ADA requests
*Liaises with the Office of International Students and Scholars to monitor faculty with HIB Visas, including any issues that may involve extensions to tenure
*Oversees and ensures adherence to the Collaborating Academic Visitors Policy
*Administers Conflict of Interest Compliance for faculty
*Conducts hiring phone recommendations of faculty, as requested
*Assists with and provides administrative support for faculty misconduct investigations
*Oversees and ensures adherence to the Employment of Relatives Policy
*Runs the restricted party screening process
*Ensures graduate student compliance with Act 76 - certification of English fluency
*Creates, coordinates and manages faculty Ethics Training
*Reviews faculty job postings

2. Program Management (20%)
*Provides input to a variety of compliance and research-related programs while promoting wise stewardship of the University's physical assets and resources
*Develops and administers compliance and research-related programs; provides continuous analysis, interpretation, resolution and implementation of programs
*Interprets federal and state regulations concerning compliance programs; reviews proposed legislation and regulations and responds to agencies, federal and other regulatory and accreditation entities
*Develops appropriate action plans and executes
*Evaluates effectiveness of strategic and action plans; determines if results are on target with University objectives making adjustments as necessary

3. Customer Service/Communication (10%)
*Evaluates and resolves issues or problems with University staff, faculty, students or visitors with diplomacy
*Develops relationships with customers, administrators, other institutions and regulators, in the best interests of the program and the University
*Proactively improves services and programs to enhance customer experience utilizing continuous improvement methodology
*May speak on behalf of the unit as prescribed by the Director or executive leadership

4. Leadership (10%)
*Contributes to developing the vision and mission for the unit that is consistent with the University's overall mission and vision; ensures that they are consistently and effectively integrated into all aspects of the unit's operations
*Champions and positively impacts diversity in the workplace and the University community; initiates opportunities to promote respect for the value of individuals regardless of background or culture

5. Budget Management (5%)
*Participates in determining budgets for the unit; provides information to budget executives and other senior level management to determine University priorities
*Administers and manages assigned budgets, determines means and methods to address emergent situations adhering to University priorities

6. Work Management/Work Unit Responsibility (5%)
*Exercises oversight authority for administration of and compliance with unit and University policies; participates in creating and revising University policies
