SUMMARY

The Document Control Lead is responsible to oversee the activities of the configuration management/ document control department as wells as mentor, develop, and manage any direct reports. This position is expected to lead all configuration management and document control efforts to reduce waste, improve safety/quality, support the introduction of new products, and successfully meet customer/regulatory requirements. He/she acts as a single point of contact for other departments, such as operations, program management, and purchasing. Other responsibilities include the ownership of all configuration and document control activities and the support of all related products during their lifecycle to ensure documentation correctness and completeness is available for all product builds and process operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversees and administers/assigns tasks and reviews work within the work project and/or document control department.
* Management of information within ERP system including part numbers, BOMs, routers and processing of ECO (change orders) to either change existing data or create new
* Copies drawings using office and engineering copiers, scanners and plotters
* Maintain engineering change order (ECO) data
* Maintain engineering drawing data
* Maintain customer drawing/specification data
* Possibly use CAD software to perform basic editing and plotting of drawings

*Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * High School Diploma / GED required. AA/AS degree or equivalent preferred. Direct relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* 5+ years related experience in document control process
* Expert in BOM structure, routings, and manufacturer part numbers
* Expertise in working within ERP system (SAP strongly preferred)
* Experience in aerospace and defense industry working within AS9100 regulations
* ITAR regulations and document management
* Extremely high level of attention to detail
* Proficiency at operating photocopying and scanning equipment
* Ability to communicate and interface well with a wide range of people
* Good oral and written communication skills and good organizational and time management skills.
* Working knowledge of MS Office tools
