JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

In this role the individual will process transactions of domestic transportation, including trucking border locations and local deliveries to customer plants/warehouses or direct clients. Will be responsible for the operative daily routine and administrative tasks required including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, cross docking and customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Book/route shipments
  • Quoting shipments
  • Routing/ tracking/ and communicating with customers
  • Anticipating the needs of customers in order to develop strong relationships
  • Communicating with sales and other key constituents in the shipping pipeline to preempt customer concerns in order to improve business performance
  • Organizing shipment and delivery of goods worldwide in a timely, professional and cost-effective manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The incumbent will not directly and/or indirectly supervise employees

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in Transportation, Trucking and Delivery operations process.
  • Knowledge in the system and track & trace IT solutions.
  • Orientated to goals achievement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in the operative department with a sense of urgency
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a "direct threat" to the health or safety of self or others
  • Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in transportation or trucking services delivery
  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
