Description:

The Ambulatory Education Specialist is responsible for providing effective training and education to Loyola staff members in various departments, including Ambulatory, Admitting, PFS and Billing and HIM. Responsible for the coordination of the New Service Rep Orientation program, as well as facilitation of training courses. Assists with the development of curriculum and course materials. Acts as an expert resource for Loyola staff regarding insurance registration and system questions. Participates in Training Environment build and maintenance to ensure effective and meaningful training facilitation.

Conducts New Hire Orientation classes, including What to Register,
Epic Registration, EPIC Appointment Scheduling,
Customer Service, Insurance Verification and Review & Finals. Maintenance of
class schedules in HealthStream, student enrollment in classes, report
generation of class attendance and assessment scores.

Class attendees include Ambulatory and Inpatient/ER registration staff,
nurses, secretaries, Billing, HIM and PFS staff. Acts as a resource for Loyola staff, patients and insurance companies by responding to insurance and registration-related inquiries as part of a department-wide on-call rotation. Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials, assessments and evaluations for classes.

Facilitates additional training for existing staff, as needed. Coordinates the registration and maintenance of these schedules, enrollment, attendance and assessment scores. Acts as subject matter expert for registration, scheduling and billing. Participates in end user testing, new workflow testing and upgrade communication blitzes as needed.

General instructions are available but employee has latitude to set priorities. Questionable items referred to supervisor.

Minimum Education:
Required: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
Specify Degree(s): Bachelors degree in Education, Adult Learning or related field
