A member of the department's operating team, capable of independently performing all duties, including operating/using complex electrical tools, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Participates in the continuous improvement process by making suggestions to Supervisors and Leads.
  • Ensures that all housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Individual must perform to Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Procedures to maintain material flow to internal and external customers.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical systems and equipment.
  • Works from circuit diagrams and SOP's, when available, and recommends alterations to Lead Electrician or other appropriate departmental personnel.
  • May be asked to assume duties of Lead Electrician when absent.
  • Recognizes operational irregularities on equipment of processes, accurately determines the cause and takes appropriate corrective actions.
  • Participates in team meetings and activities and may be asked to assume various leadership roles within the team.
  • Assists Lead Electrician with providing training to other departmental personnel/apprentices/co-ops/2YD.
  • Promptly notifies production personnel of equipment or process malfunctions.
  • Promptly refers unusual problems to Lead Electrician and/or Area Leader.
  • Performs required training and other craft related duties assigned to maintain the Elmore plant.
  • Adheres to procedures, compliance with safety requirements, environmental and waste disposal procedures/ regulations, and correcting any violations.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 year degree in electrical controls or electronics desirable
  • Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team to meet demands.
  • Must have completed at least five years of industrial electrical maintenance work or relevant military experience.
  • A completed approved four-year apprentice program will also be considered.
  • Must complete on the job training to understand the Plant Emergency, SPCC and ERT procedures.
  • Individual must be able to independently analyze an electrical problem and implement solutions.
  • When working alone on off shifts individual assumes Lead Electrician duties.
  • Individual works in all areas of the plant and on the roof.
  • Individual is occasionally exposed to conditions such as dust, fumes, dirt, close quarters, chemicals, airborne Be, etc.
  • Individual also frequently lifts heavy material, climbs stairs/ladders, and is on feet most of workday.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ensures work areas and PPE are maintained and 5s standards are followed.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office products and email.
  • Must have good verbal and written skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to provide customer service.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
