Summary of Role:

The Equipment Engineer - Single Wafer Diffusion (EPI / RTP) role at GlobalFoundries in Hopewell Junction, NY requires a highly skilled engineer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, cross functional team environment. The role requires balancing daily tactical priorities to support an existing fleet of single wafer diffusion tools and longer-term projects to continuously improve performance of existing tools, convert existing tools and installing new tools based on changing production needs.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

• Provide technical support and guidance to effectively identify root causes to equipment issues.
• Develop equipment procedures and methodologies for high volume manufacturing using statistical tools, Predictive and Preventative maintenance concepts, DOE techniques, data driven decision making and systematic problem-solving skills.
• Monitoring of tool performance, troubleshot and develop solutions that prevent recurrence of chronic issues.
• Support yield and Continuous Improvement activities related to the single wafer diffusion equipment.
• Sustain existing equipment, drive installation of new equipment as well as conversion of existing tools for new uses.
• Drive cost saving initiatives through second sources, direct sources, parts life-time improvement, and PM optimizations.
• Set up Equipment performance KPIs (Key Performance Indices), monitoring and adjustment according to fab goals.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong project leadership and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within diverse teams of customers, internal and external partners.
• Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Prior equipment or process engineering experience semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Prior Semiconductor Equipment Install or maintenance experience
