Entry Level Park Decor- Tech 1
Knott's Berry Farm

Overview:

Park Decorators fabricate decorations and sets for the Knott's Berry farm resort, Knott's Berry Farm Hotel and Soak City. Each
location may have a specific time period or theme, which the decorator will need to Identify and understand. Individuals assigned to
work in Park Decor must have a full understanding of hardware safety, correct fabrication techniques and an awareness of
decorating installation.

Park Decorator role includes and is not limited to one of the following Positions:

Window Display Designer/Installer, Floral Design, Scenic Painting, or Seasonal Holiday Decorator

Park Decor Scenic Painter:

*Knowledge of water based and other painting mediums , brushes and tools
*Ability to recreate, in small and large scale, from paint elevations
*Knowledge of general paint technique. Scumbles, aging and graing, and faux finish

Seasonal Holiday Decorator:

* Fabricate Seasonal and Holiday decorations for Knott's Berry Farm Resort
*review current assets for quality and replace and repair as needed
*Assist and develop New designs of Seasonal and Holiday decor
* Install and maintain Seasonal and Holiday Decor during the events

Window Display Designer/Installer:

*Understand Color theory,composition,balance and texture
*Possess knowledge of period styles,fashions and set decorations
*Examine, repair or replace current props and set decor as needed.
*Clean and dust and maintain Current installations.
*Utilize hand tools, small power tools and understand various types of hardware.
*Produce thumbnail sketches as well as finished design drawings for each project as needed.
*Read and interpret Blue Prints or drawings.
*Coordinate with other crafts or departments. Painters, metal workers,Carpenters or electricians.
*Make effective use of Budget and manpower resources.

All Positions:

*Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

*Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

*Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

General Requirements of all Park decorator roles Include and are not limited to the following:

*Use of basic tools,glues and adhesives
*Strong freehand and graphic illustration skills to produce thumbnail sketches as well as Finished presentation style drawings.
*Color theory, composition, balance and texture
*Period styles and fashions
*Current window display design skills
*Proficiency in time management and efficient material utilization.
* Basic/advanced Scenic painting skills

Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,
previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial
law.
