Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • Execute environmental functions based on guidance from Environmental Engineer
  • Produce environmental reports for water, waste, and air
  • Assist in evaluation of required plans for RMR/MRS locations
  • Research regulations for applicability to RMR/MRS locations and possible compliance risks
  • Compile data as necessary for environmental research
  • Communicate with facility contacts, regulatory departments, and vendors as necessary
  • Visit sites with Environmental Engineer to help ensure compliance
  • Research possible environmental improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or equivalent required
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Power Point, and Word, and accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify problems and develop alternative solutions to complete the task.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
