Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience with Microsoft Word, and Excel

Basic Job Functions:

To assist the Kirby sales team and Kirby Builders by accurately and efficiently estimating building system prices based on our quote proposal documents, company policies, and standards. Estimator basic functions include but are not limited to:

• Provide coordination on daily quote activities by reviewing and recommending economical solutions to various sales requests.
• Manage the schedule demands as set forth by the customers, sales team, and other members of the estimating department to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Supply accurate, concise, and well-qualified building proposals while utilizing an effective application of the custom-developed estimating software.
• Assist in the checking of other team members' work to ensure the accuracy of all custom-developed estimating software.
• Field phone calls from District Sales Managers and Builders regarding project scope, qualifications, and estimates.
• Generate accurate take-offs for the building material that are not manufactured by Kirby Building Systems.
• Assist proactively and as assigned, in the development of additional tools, standards, etc., which will help to increase individual and overall department productivity and accuracy.
• Interaction and clear communication with customers and the Sales team is an expectation of this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering Technology/Construction Management or A minimum (3) years of experience in steel construction and/or non-residential construction.

Work experience mustinclude:

1. Reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.

2. Generating accurate material tale-offs utilizing architectural and structural drawings.

• Prior experience with CAD program.
