This position reports to the Associate CIO / Associate VP for IT, Information Systems and Computing (ISC). The Executive Director of Finance and Planning/Chief Financial Officer provides leadership and direction for all planning and financial functions of this organization having an annual operating budget exceeding $90 million and a capital project budget that averages $7 million per year. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team in establishing strategic direction for the organization's budget and planning processes. Supervise, develop and coach a staff of six with five direct reports.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include providing oversight of financial analysis, performance metrics and operating budgets; managing service cost and billing functions; maintaining effective internal controls and ensuring ISC compliance with University policies and procedures and GAAP. The role also serves as a representative on financial matters for ISC, University and external (IVY Plus, etc.) committees, task forces and meetings and is responsible for working with a diverse group of ISC stakeholders to define strategic plans, annual goals, and benchmarks.
In addition to leading all ISC efforts related to managing and reporting financial results and performance, provide strategic financial input and leadership for decision making (e.g., develop funding plans for key projects), prepare and present financial and performance measurement reports for senior leadership, and supervise, develop and coach Finance & Planning team members. Support the ACIO in the management, oversight and continual improvement of Asset and Vendor Management and IT Financial management through effective strategy, governance, metrics, and consistent mode of operations.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and at least 7-10 years of progressive experience as a Financial Administrator, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred. Experience in higher education is highly desirable.
