Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES is seeking an experienced engineer to address multiple facets of integrating photonics devices onto a leading edge technology. In this role, you will be an individual contributor responsible for using commercial TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design) software to study processing (deposition/etch/implant/anneal) and electrical characteristics (I-V, C-V, Optical parameters). Thermal and stress issues will also be involved. Your results will inform development directions for the company. You will need to connect frequently with engineers and customers of many backgrounds, coalesce their inputs into a well-formed problem statement, then solve it and deliver a high-quality report.

Essential Responsibilities

• Use of commercial software tools to understand how semiconductor processing influences final device characteristics.
  
• Extensive interaction with integration, device, and design engineers to assure development of a working technology
  
• Self-driven, with the ability to balance multiple projects and deliver results.
  

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience, dedicated to modeling of materials and device physics.
  
• Solid understanding of semiconductor devices (resistors, capacitors, MOSFETs and Bipolars)
  
• Solid understanding of heat transfer and stress in materials.
  
• Ability to quickly learn new software
  
• Ability to clearly present results to small and large groups.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Engineering or other Technical field
  
• 8+ years of semiconductor engineering experience.
  
• Mastery of principles and working knowledge of VLSI integration and design.
  
• Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness

Expected Salary Range
$99,000.00 - $222,500.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
