Facilities & Grounds Technician - 2nd Shift

Position Description:

Performs duties to maintain building and grounds; perform general housekeeping repairs and installations; and conduct scheduled safety audits of safety related equipment through the entire facility. This is a 2nd Shift (evening) position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure the building facilities are in good working order and meet expectations
• Perform general installations or repairs including but not limited to plumbing, lighting - inside and out, painting, and general carpentry
• Repair cook racks and dollies daily to ensure availability for production
• Perform and document weekly inspections of eye wash stations and makes needed repairs
• Perform and document monthly fire extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections making any needed repairs
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Keep walkways clear of snow and ice, maintain emergency exits making sure they are accessible
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Proficient in plumbing, electrical, painting, assembly and repairs
• Valid state driver's license
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
• 3 - 5 years related building maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds on a regular basis
• Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
• Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
• Able to climb, crouch, kneel and crawl on an occasional basis to service variety of equipment
