Position Purpose:

The Utility Supervisor will be responsible for supervising employees who clean, fuel and check fluid levels for a fleet of diesel buses.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Directly oversees all daily activities of the Utility Department including supervision of all Utility Workers.
• Accounts for subordinate and personnel compliance with all Veolia's safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Monitor employee's performance of established procedures.
• Plans, organizes, and assigns daily work in Utility Department.
• Monitors performance of and efficiencies of the Utility Department.
• Hold daily tailgate meetings with Utility Workers.
• Perform Post Inspections on vehicles that have been detailed.
• Provide daily updates to Maintenance Manager and Client.
• Administer daily reports for the Utility Department.
• Responsible for maintaining the storage areas of spare parts and equipment.
• Other duties as needed.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma (or GED equivalent).
• Some college preferred and at least three (3) years prior experience in a Maintenance environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of the organization's functions, methods of operation, staff and operational departments.
• Competency to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other managers and employees.
• Capacity to plan and supervise the work of subordinates.
• Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work.
• Must be computer literate in word and excel and functional with the English language in both verbal and in written forms.
• Must be able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and communicate at all times with professionalism and courtesy.
