Field Service Engineer - BESS (Burlington, VT)

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join our team. This role commissions, supports, maintains and services WEG BESS systems and equipment, and trains our customers and service partners. Approximately 50% travel.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and perform training program for customers and local service partners.
• Create commissioning, operation, service and troubleshooting manuals.
• Manage WEG and third-party equipment warranties, such as transformers, power converters, batteries, etc.
• Coordinate, manage and execute commissioning services.
• Coordinate and manage scheduled service, including WEG and sub-suppliers.
• Coordinate and manage unscheduled service, including WEG and sub-suppliers.
• Manage O&M agreements.
• Create service plan to maintain our installed base.
• Manage remote access to our systems in operation, making sure the system is constantly monitored, meeting system performance and availability.
• Provide 24/7 support to our installed base.
• Interacting with system operators, including scheduling the system operation schedule.
• Managing spare parts.
• Possess and maintain the appropriate tools and materials for servicing.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

• 
  HS diploma/GED or Technical certification in a related field. Engineering degree or equivalent related experience is preferred.
  

Knowledge / training:

• Electronic equipment, such as power converters.
• PLC and automation.
• SCADA
• Use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Reading schematics and drawings.
• Power and distribution Transformers.
• Energy Storage systems with batteries a plus.
• MS Office Suite.
• Safety standards, rules and legislation.
• NFPA 70E/OHSA-10/30

Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
