Veritiv has over 75 technicians in the U.S. so most of our techs have a geographic range of 2 or less states, which allows us to get to our customers quickly, and also means less travel time for our techs.

Field Technicians start with a generous salary that grows with training & experience, and also qualifies for overtime.

This position comes with the use of a company vehicle, company supplied tools, including a laptop & phone, and training will be supplied & paid for by the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealing, case erectors, label printer/applicators, strapping equipment and assorted products at customer and Veritiv company sites.
  • Conduct setup calibration, testing, mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting of circuits, components and instruments using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Perform a variety of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics and electro-mechanical tests, repair and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience performing repairs and maintenance on semi-auto and automatic equipment and machinery. 3+ years working in a service support organization.
  • Understand and demonstrate proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshooting skills - diagnosing and troubleshooting micro-logic device, electrical, pneumatic and PLC Ladder logic.
  • Support systems integration with customers, manufacturers, suppliers and other service personnel involving machine problems and/or turn-key systems.
  • Interact and train internal and external customers and address problems in a professional and timely manner.

  • Must lift and handle parts up to 75 pounds
  • Must work in industrial environments, including working on ladders and lifts at high elevation, as well as low elevations such as underneath equipment
  • Must work in a variety of settings, including fast-paced industrial and food production environments
  • Some overnight travel required, including long distance driving and air travel
