Our Southeast Property & Buildings business is growing! We have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Leader to join our team in support of the expansion of our Fire & Life Safety (FLS) business into the state of Florida.

This position can be based anywhere in the state of Florida with preference to one of our office locations in Tampa, Fort Myers or West Palm Beach/Wellington.

Specific responsibilities in the role will include:

• Developing Florida client base and FLS business via new clients and new projects to expand US SE revenue targets
• Developing plans to initially grow the FLS business group in Florida and future growth into Georgia and surrounding states
• Leading and contributing to the preparation of proposals and RFQs for projects and opportunities
• Developing good working relationships with the Southeast Business Groups within Environment (CAR, EHS), Water (Wastewater, Treatment, Industrial Water), Transportation (Maritime and Coastal) Engineering Design Organization (Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Design) for collaboration with existing Florida GHD clients for Property & Buildings expansion
• Providing creative and code compliant or code equivalent solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities
• Supporting the execution of existing FLS work in the US Southeast region

Successful skills & qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related ABET accredited engineering degree
• Registered P.E. (discipline to be Fire Protection); ability to secure PE license (discipline as fire protection) in additional states as needed
• At least 10 years of experience in the evaluation/design of Fire Protection Systems (suppression, standpipe, clean agent, fire alarm, mass notification, etc.), Life Safety Analysis, Building/Fire Code Consulting, Performance Based Design Analysis
• Experienced Seller / Doer with existing client base and contacts within multiple sectors
• Federal Government (both civilian agency and DoD) project and client experience a plus
• Strong Business Development aptitude with an ability to maintain and build outstanding client relationships
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
• Strong project management skills, managing multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget
• Active member of relevant industry associations and communities
