TITLE: FPSI Store Manager  

SECTION: Florida Public Safety Institute  

HIRING SALARY: $38,758.86 - $42,448.69 annually 

HOURS: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday; some nights and weekends

MAJOR FUNCTION:The Store Manager position housed at the Florida Public Safety Institute in Quincy, Florida.  The Store Manager will report directly to the Director of Financial Services. 

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing the day to day operation of the Florida Public Safety Institutes Store and Website.
  • Ordering, receiving, creating inventory, pricing, labeling, displaying, stocking and selling merchandise for the FPSI Store.
  • Sizing FPSI students, collect payment or create invoices for billing 3rd parties, assemble uniforms for pick up by students and distribute uniforms to students.
  • Maintain and update merchandise to be purchased through the FPSI Web-Store and respond to questions/orders on the FPSI Web-Store.
  • Researching new merchandise to be sold in the FPSI Store and Web-Store.
  • Creating a marketing campaign for the FPSI Store and the Web-Store on a Monthly basis.

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: An Associate's degree and four years of experience in point of sales systems, retail, and inventory required. Additional education may substitute for the required experience.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:  This position requires a working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of maintaining inventory and lost prevention. The ability to effectively communicate, verbally using the English language. Ability to interact positively with the general public. Ability to identify problems before the escalate. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and make independent judgments. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift and carry packages up to 20 lbs. Skilled in shipping/receiving procedures. Skilled in the use of personal computers. Problem solving skills.
