Job Description

  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality system
  • Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, evaluate succession plans in preparation for growth
  • Confront and address problems, concerns and performance issues
  • Foster motivation and morale
  • Support and promote company policies and procedures
  • Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Proactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivity

  • Perform work for both routine and non-routine work as specified by separate and applicable technical job description for individual
  • Develop and implement operational improvements
  • Supervise others in performing client's service requirements
  • Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements
  • Coach and develop individual and team to maximize performance
  • Monitor and approve employees' time worked through time-entry system
  • Communicates effectively with client staff members
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Champion implementation of new techniques, technologies and instrumentation
  • Support onboarding of new instrumentation
  • Continually evaluate systems and processes to help improve overall productivity and quality
  • Monitor direct reports work
  • Supervise more complex projects and lead others in performing and meeting client's requirements
  • Provide consultation to clients on technical issues, including interpretation of results
  • Possess broad scope of technical expertise in multiple areas
  • Troubleshoot and solve both instrumental and method issues
  • Lead and write investigations independently, establish root cause and robust CAPA
  • Support and drive LEAN initiatives and operational improvements
  • Monitor and control consumables spending
  • Evaluate pricing structure and provide input for changes
  • Assess new opportunities and assess quotes
  • Assess departmental growth needs and provide input for CapEx for coming years
  • Expand self-awareness and develop leadership skills as defined; attend applicable leadership training based on identified needs
  • Perform and/or assign other duties as requested to ensure smooth operation of department
  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related degree concentration and at least 4years of laboratory experience

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Portage, MI are encouraged to apply.
