Description

The Human Resource Coordinator provides administrative support to the human resource function including, but not limited to coordinating the hiring process, conducting new hire orientations, maintaining HR records and any other HR related projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Helps facilitate the hiring process from applicant to employee for positions as assigned
  • Works closely with the HR Generalist to support the hiring function
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Administers new hire documentation, process, and verifying I-9 Forms
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks, and provides pre-employment drug screen information, and pre-employment strength test information
  • Ensures all required paperwork and documentation is completed before the new hire start date, according to the new hire checklist
  • Processes employee action forms (i.e., terminations, compensation, retirements, reports to changes, etc.)
  • Communicate employee changes to all applicable departments/teams, including but not limited to IT, Payroll, Leadership
  • Schedule meetings and interviews as requested
  • Prepares correspondence as requested
  • Assists the HR Generalist with University and external career fair events that may require travel outside of usual commute (estimated amount of travel is less than 5%)
  • Assists the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources with related projects when needed


Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work on a team and independently


Education/Experience/Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent preferred
  • At least two years of related experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Paylocity system preferred.


Physical Demands and Environment:
  • Work performed requires or no measurable physical exertion, may be required to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Work is performed in a normal office sitting with intermittent standing or sitting as determined by the incumbent
  • Work requires moderate concentration to effectively execute varied tasks with some level of complexity
  • Works in a normal office environment
  • Minimal potential for injury in the performance of duties
