POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide advice and counsel on personnel issues to employees and management, ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent with company practices.
• Maintain a comprehensive manager's manual covering all human resource policies. Assist with the update of the Employees Handbook.
• Responds to recruitment needs of departments and places recruitment advertising.
• Interviews applicants, checks references and refers qualified applicant for second interview.
• Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
• Attends career fairs and college recruitment programs.
• Conduct all exit interviews on behalf of management for locations under your responsibility.
• Investigates causes of disputes and employee discipline problems and recommends follow-up action.
• Assures compliance with local, state and federal regulations such as EEO, FLSA, ADA and FMLA.
• Provides employee counseling as needed; answers benefit questions and policy/procedures as requested.
• Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
• Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
• Trains locations as needed regarding sexual harassment.
• Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and experience working in a Human Resources environment. Must have experience interfacing with all employee levels.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Communicate effectively with management and employees verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of the company's policies and practices.

Maintain high level of confidentiality.

Travel maybe required.

Knowledge of all Federal and State laws and regulations as they pertain to Human Resources.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.
