IBM: Front End Engineer, e-Commerce (Remote)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Baton Rouge, LA that is seeking an IBM: Front End Engineer, e-Commerce for a remote position.Summary:The e-Commerce front end engineer provides leadership, direction and implementation on technical projects that affect all company consumer brand e-Commerce sites. In this role, you will work within a team to implement new features and functionality as well as maintain, support and upgrade existing functionality. In addition, you will utilize prior e-Commerce experience to identify and implement improvements in current technology implementations.Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the UI tier making use of industry best practices
• Implement rapid updates to fulfill changing business and marketing requirements
• Develop functional and technical documentation and designs for assigned projects
• Work within a team environment, supporting the team goals, and improving web development engineering practices
• Analyze and optimize front end architecture and maximize page performance
• Utilize SASS to create responsive page layouts and styles
• Act as mentor to peers
• Develop code consistent with company standard coding practices

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of the concept of progressive enhancement
• In-depth knowledge of mobile first responsive design
• Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
• A firm grasp of SEO/SEM best practices
• Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, unit test, system test, deployment, and production support
• Experience developing code compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG)
• Experience with CI/CD theory and automated testing workflows

Technologies:

• 4+ years writing custom HTML5, CSS#, and JavaScript
• Expertise writing semantic, modular front end code using HTML5, SASS/CSS3, and W3C coding practices
• Understanding & experience using various JavaScript design patterns (MVC, Flux, Redux)
• Experience with unit testing and test driven development (Jasmine, Karma, or similar)
• Experience with CSS frameworks (ex. SASS, LESS)
• Experience with React, ES6, and legacy jQuery stacks
• Experience with workflow automation using Grunt/Gulp
• Expertise in performance optimization using tools such as YSlow or PageSpeed
• Experience writing rudimentary SQL statements (select, update, insert, delete)
• Experience using JSP/JSTL or equivalent server side templating language (PHP, ASP)
